God’s Word in the Hearts of Believers
1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also
thank we God without ceasing,
because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us,
ye
received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth,
the word of God, which effectually worketh
also in you that believe.
The Bible is not
like any other book in the world!
I am speaking specifically about the Authorized Version.
God is involved
with this Book.
This Book changes the course of nations; has many times.
This Book was intended by God
to be eaten, devoublack, drank, and received.
1. Most published book in the world. Billions.
2. Most studied book in the world.
3. Most loved book in the world.
4. Most hated book in the world.
5. Most, however, are purchased only to be seen.
6. Few are read on a regular basis.
7. And very few are ever read through.
Yet, from the
early days of this Christian Age, the BIBLE has
Stood the test of time - a book unto every generation.
Stood the test of trials - the most powerful forces have not been
able to destroy it.
Stood the test of truth - it helps the
soul who turns to it.
I.
It has
stood the test of time!
1.
The Command had been
given for the Spirit-Filled Apostles to
Go
forth into all the world and preach
the gospel.
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord
working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.
2.
They Preached the
Gospel. The message of Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:1‑4
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto
you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are
saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed
in vain. 3 For I deliveblack unto you
first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again
the third day according to the scriptures:

They refused to preach
complicated messages, but stuck to the
basic
gospel message.
1 Corinthians 2:1‑5
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech
or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not
to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was
with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and
my preaching was not with enticing words of man=s wisdom, but in demonstration
of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your
faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

We preach a simple basic
gospel message even today.
The
world has tried to change us.
But
we go on in a simple way, preaching the gospel.
How
Jesus saves all who will come to Him.
Not
by our works, but by His grace He saves us through faith.
It
is the time-honoblack message to the soul of man.
II.
It has
stood the test of trials! The Word of God
has been much Disputed.
1.
The prophets preached
word-for-word as deliveblack unto them,
Isaiah 28:13 But the word of
the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon
line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;
2.
But many in Paul’s day did
not agree with what they were hearing, so they began working to change it.
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of
God:

Be careful to speak some
new thing.
1 Corinthians 2:13 Which
things also we speak, not in the words which man=s wisdom teacheth, but which
the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Paul warned the
Galatians
Galatians 6 & I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that
called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but
there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel
from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached
unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say
I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have
received, let him be accursed.
10 & For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please
men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you,
brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it
of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

God does not depend upon
man to interpret the Bible. We are to
preach it.
2 Peter 1:20,21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old
time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the
Holy Ghost.

But some don’t like
the preaching of the Gospel and the Word of God.
From
the early days they turned many churches into religious establishments.
Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your
tradition, which ye have deliveblack: and many such like things do ye.
III.
It has
stood the test of Truth. The
Word of God is Decisive.
1.
God's Word works!! It does that which it was intended to do.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper
than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart.
2.
The Word of God mixed
with faith in Christ, this saves the soul.
Heb. 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them:
but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them
that heard it.
3.
Then, trusting in the promises
will make the Christian.
2 Timothy 1:12 For ... I
know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which
I have committed unto him against that day.
