You were never meant to have it all figured out. Trust God with the parts you can’t see—and watch Him make your paths straight.
Word for Today: Stop Leaning on Your Own Understanding
Today’s Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
We like to figure things out. We make plans. We run scenarios. We try to control outcomes.
And then life throws something at us we didn’t see coming—and suddenly our plans don’t work anymore.
Here’s the truth: you were never meant to have it all figured out.
Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us the antidote to anxiety: trust God, not yourself.
That doesn’t mean you’re foolish or incapable. It means you’re human. Your perspective is limited. You can only see what’s right in front of you.
But God sees the whole picture. He sees the beginning and the end. He knows what’s around the corner. And He’s asking you to trust Him with the parts you can’t see.
“In all your ways acknowledge Him.” That means in your job, your relationships, your finances, your decisions—invite Him in. Ask for His guidance. Surrender your grip.
When you do, He promises to make your paths straight. Not easy. Not painless. But straight—leading exactly where you need to go.
Today, stop trying to figure it all out. Take a breath. Open your hands. And say, “God, I trust You more than I trust myself.”
That’s when peace shows up.
Prayer for Today:
Lord, I admit I’ve been trying to control things I was never meant to carry. Today I release my grip. I trust You with my whole heart. Lead me, guide me, and make my paths straight. I surrender my plans to Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflect: What are you holding onto that you need to release to God today?
