Wherever you are with God today — curious, doubting, hurting or finding your way back — you’re welcome here. This page is the short version of what Christians believe, and why we think it’s the best news there is.
God made you, and he loves you
You aren’t an accident, and you aren’t invisible. The Bible’s best-known verse puts it simply:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (KJV)
Something has gone wrong
Most of us know it without being told. We hurt people, we hurt ourselves, and we push God to the edges of our lives. The Bible calls that sin, and it says none of us is the exception.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Jesus came to put it right
This is the heart of it. God didn’t wait for us to fix ourselves. Jesus lived the life we couldn’t, died in our place, and rose again — so that anyone can be forgiven and made new.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
How do I respond?
There’s no special form of words and nothing to earn. It starts with trusting Jesus and telling God so.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
If you want to, you could pray something like this, in your own words: “God, I’ve gone my own way. Thank you that Jesus died and rose again for me. I’m sorry, and I want to follow him. Please forgive me and make me new. Amen.”
What next?
- Read a short daily word — a few minutes with Scripture each morning.
- Ask for prayer — or pray for someone else.
- Find Bible answers to the questions you’re carrying.
- Find a local church. A website can point you to Jesus, but it can’t sit with you, eat with you or pray with you in person — a church family can.
- Tell us if you’ve just taken this step. We’d love to hear from you.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
