Questions.
How does the random Bible verse generator work?
Press Generate (or the space bar) and a verse appears on your card straight away. Choose Whole Bible for a truly random verse from all 31,102 verses, or Curated for a well-loved verse of comfort and encouragement. You can narrow it to one book, and switch translation at any time.
Is it truly random?
In Whole Bible mode, yes. Every one of the 31,102 verses has an equal chance of being picked. Curated mode draws from a hand-picked list of the verses people most often look for.
Which translations can I use?
The King James Version (KJV) and the World English Bible (WEB). Both are in the public domain, so you can share the cards you make freely.
Can I make a Bible verse wallpaper or story image?
Yes. Pick square, story, portrait, phone wallpaper or landscape, choose a background and a typeface, then download the PNG or share it straight from your phone. No account needed.
Can I read the verse in context?
Every verse links to its full chapter on FreeOnlineBible.com, our sister site, which opens in a new tab. A verse should never be read out of context.
Scripture from the King James Version and the World English Bible, both in the public domain.
